Y...I have SQL 2008 express for 1 year workign fine.<br />Yesterday I have installed an application than installs SQL 2008 R2 and got a problem.<br /><br />I found this solution (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11589964/sql-server-agent-gives-remote-procedure-call-failed-0x800706be):<br />"If you have SQL Server 2012 running side-by-side on the same machine with SQL Server 2008/2008 R2, then you need to have SQL Server 2008 SP3 or later (or) SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 or later. This is required to obtain the edition information when performing a SQL Server discovery across the enterprise. I applied SP2 on my SQL 2008 R2 instance and that fixed the issue with configuration manager. If you run into this issue, this piece of information might help you."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7253819249303788337.post-14603295544199422432012-12-02T12:34:53.599-08:002012-12-02T12:34:53.599-08:00I'm having the exact same problem now.

In my case, Microsoft has agreed to reopen the issue; they asked for a detailed list of my patches, versions of Visual Studio and SQL, etc so I ran "psinfo" on my system and sent it to them.
